Tomorrow, the WWE will host its annual event titled Summer Slam. The action takes place live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. There are a total of 13 matches on the card that is going to be a special 4 hour broadcast, just like WrestleMania. Here are the predictions for each of the 11 matches on the main card from the Heel/Face Wrestling staff. The first two matches will be previewed on our live pre show podcast that can be heard here on our website. Also, don’t forget, you can enter our Summer Slam giveaway up until 5pm (central time) on Sunday. We have three great prizes that we are giving away! Now, on to our predictions!

Carmella, Becky Lynch & Naomi vs. Natalya, Alexa Bliss & TBD

First off I’d like to say, it feels good to be off suspension. Jeff, for putting me on suspension in the first place, you are S A W F T SAAWWWFFFFTTTTT!!!! Now to start my predictions, isn’t Eva Marie supposed to be suspended? So is this a real suspension or another way of WWE keeping Eva Marie from Wrestling? Why was she even drafted in the first place? Can someone tell me? But Bayley still in NXT? C’MON MAN! Well if it’s going to go on as a 2 on 3 match, I have Carmella, Becky Lynch, and Glow Naomi winning this one.

Winner: Carmella, Becky Lynch & Naomi.
-Carlo

This match is a huge question mark. Originally a 3 on 3 with Eva Marie, her recent suspension due to a violation of the wellness policy has left us scratching our heads. Will this be a handicap match? Will someone, Nikki Bella, fill in the vacant heel spot? And given the recent way Eva has avoided her matches on WWE TV, is this a work or legit? So I’m just going to treat this like a handicap match and go from there. I think we were all surprised when Carmella was drafted to Smackdown and not to RAW with her boys, Enzo and Cass. Triple H made it clear that the move was due to the belief that she has huge upside and needs to prove on her own that she has what it takes. I like it and I think that Carmella will be a huge factor in the Women’s Division from here on out. I also love, love, love me some Straight Fire Becky Lynch. The Lass Kicker is sitting at the top of my favorite wrestler list, with Bayley and Sasha, and she doesn’t disappoint in a match. The recently returned Naomi debuted a new glowing look and should be looking to make a statement with her in ring return. Nattie can go and is a solid heel. I was amazed with the Blissed Offed one’s call up as I saw her helping keep NXT’s Women’s Division going. She has improved incredibly and she was one of my favorites to watch during her NXT run. Glad she ditched the tag team. My fear is that now that this match is essentially broken that it will be dropped to the pre-show and rob us of having multiple Women’s matches on the Main Card. My hope for this match is that it will spawn off rivalries and give the ladies their own individual storylines. It’s time for the storylines to give us what we want and that’s Women’s Wrestling with the catty drama. It works for NXT, it can work on the main roster. The Faces win this match and we all win because we don’t have to see Eva Marie botches.

Winner: Carmella, Becky Lynch & Naomi.
-Joseph

Let’s all get a slow clap going for Eva Marie, shall we? Finally gets called up. Finally gets a push/angle that works….and still finds a way to screw it up. Not sure who is going to fill her spot or how much time this match is going to get, but all these women can go. Plan your bathroom break elsewhere.

Winner: Carmella, Naomi & Becky Lynch.
-Jason

First, I’d like to let Carlo know that he has only himself to blame for being suspended. No one told him to hang out with Jason and do stuff that was a violation of our wellness policy.

image

Now that Eva Marie is suspended, this match is filled with a quality competitor in every spot on both teams! I get the whole not debuting to draw heat angle that the WWE was going for with Eva Marie, but it is time to shut up and wrestle already. Now Eva can’t even do that due to the fact that she is currently suspended (still trying to determine if this is real or fake) for 30 days because of a wellness policy violation. Even if this match is a handicap match, I think it still has a chance to be a good one. Not great, but good. I would rather have the WWE add someone else other than Nikki Bella. Don’t get me wrong, I like Nikki, I just think it is time to give someone else a shot on the main roster, however, I do NOT want it to be Bayley in this one. She deserves to be on Raw. Anyways, in an action packed, back and forth match, I think the good girls get the win.

Winner: Carmella, Becky Lynch & Naomi.
-Jeff

Cesaro vs. SheamusCESARO

Sheamus (first match of Best of Seven Series): First of 7 series? You serious? I don’t know the angle that’s going on here. They clearly have nothing for these guys so they stick them to go against each other. I have Cesaro winning this one.

Winner: Cesaro.
-Carlo

This is match one in a best of seven series even though it feels like they have wrestled every RAW since the draft. The premise behind this one is a little iffy and, while their styles compliment each other, the WWE Universe could get bored with this matchup. This seems to be creative’s trend making us watch the same matches over and over and over. I like Cesaro and I’m glad he’s getting PPV time but this is lame. He should be pushed into the main event picture or at least challenging for a Title. Sheamus has bored me for awhile and I’ve never really been a Great White fan. If this series doesn’t end in a sweep than this series needs to culminate in a Three Stages of Hell match. That is the only way I will be truly happy with this outcome. I give the first match to Sheamus because who doesn’t love an underdog story.

Winner: Sheamus.
-Joseph

Next match please.

Winner: We all lose.
-Jason

What Jason said. Why the hell are we getting this match and you’re telling me potentially six more are to come??!?!?!?!! No thanks. I guess I’ll give the first win to Sheamus just for the fact that for whatever reason Mick and Steph want to give us seven of these matches.

Winner: Sheamus.
-Jeff

Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) (with Maryse) vs. Apollo Crewsmiz

Both of these guys can wrestle, I’m just not interested in this feud. It deserved to be built up better. I think the Miz puts Apollo over and the IC title changes hands, but the feud is far from over.

Winner: Apollo Crews.
-Carlo

Hold up. Just let me get this out of my system. ZACK RYDER SHOULD STILL BE IC CHAMP! WOO! WOO! WOO! ….whew…ok, I’m good now. This is perhaps the biggest match of Apollo Crews’ career. A chance to bring home a title. Apollo has a huge test in front of him in The Miz. Say what you will about the former Tough Enough contestant, but he has been getting better in the ring. He has always been able to talk and cut a promo that makes you hate him more and more with each word he speaks. He has turned into one of my favorite heels to hate. With the return of his wife, Maryse, to the WWE, the Miz has been on a tear with the IC title. He has defeated all comers and looks to push through the upstart Crews to continue his reign. WWE is high on Crews and the guy has huge upside. He got a win over Sheamus at the last PPV and a win here would keep the jet fuel burning beneath him. The Miz will do the veteran thing to do and give Crews the rub. Crews will win his first of many titles this Sunday and become your new IC champ.

Winner: Apollo Crews.
-Joseph

Did I miss all the build-up for this match? Was there any? I feel like I have no clue why these two are wrestling other than the belt needs to be defended at Summer Slam and Crews is being positioned as future star. I think it will be a good match, I just don’t think Crews is quite up to par as far as challengers are concerned for Miz and the I.C. title.

Winner: The Miz.
-Jason

Apollo Creed, excuse me, Crews is getting his first shot at WWE gold on the second biggest stage of the year. If that doesn’t tell you how much the powers that be like him, then I don’t know what will. He is a solid worker and is very entertaining in the ring. He definitely has bright future ahead of him and it all starts Sunday after he takes the IC title away from The Miz. Much like Joseph said, Miz is turning out some of his best work lately and he is damn good on the mic. I think he puts Crews over, but I think he attacks him after the match, setting up this feud to go on probably until the year ends.

Winner: Apollo Crews.
-Jeff

Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Chris Jericho & Kevin OwensENZO

As you can tell from my opening predictions, I am a big fan of Enzo Amore and Big Cass. So think it’s safe to say that I’m going with Enzo and Cass to win this one. Side note, why is Kevin Owens not getting a better push? Could be a very good top heel.

Winner: Enzo Amore & Big Cass.
-Carlo

This should be a rivalry for the ages mainly due to the incredible promos both of these teams can put out. I was totally looking forward to New Day and Enzo and Cass warring on the mics, but this feud has totally and completely made me want more of this. The perfect heels in Jericho and KO as a pair is phenomenal and we all know how great Enzo and Cass are. This may seem like a throw away match, but I am looking forward to the promos these teams will no doubt cut before, during and after their match. I think we can all agree that Heel Jericho is the best Jericho. JeriKO, shirts coming soon, are looking to silence Enzo and Cass once and for all, but the hometown boys aren’t going down without a fight. A win here will help cement Enzo and Cass as the up and coming tag team to challenge your new tag champs. They got the big win last PPV and I’m looking for creative to start their subtle push to the top. Since this is a tag match, I don’t see a loss hurting KO or Jericho at all and an attack after the loss would keep them heeling it up. Enzo and Cass get the big win and you can’t. Teach. That!

Winner: Enzo Amore & Big Cass.
-Joseph

Let’s be honest, this match doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Let’s be honest again, we love it. These four have taken a boring story at turned it into pure awesomeness. Who doesn’t love KO, Jericho and Enzo going at it on the mic? I’m more interested in what happens after this match with these four but the match itself should be entertaining.

Winner: Enzo Amore & Big Cass.
-Jason

How ya doin’? Excited for this match? No? Well then….what do we have over here? A cuppa haters? How can you not like this match? Great heels, great mic skills, great wrestlers, great everything! This match is going to be……you guessed it GREAT! We will get the hot tag build up that Zo and Cass have perfected and we will get A+ performances from KO and Y2J. This will get you prepped for the tag title match and this one may will be even better than that one. I expect Enzo and Cass to walk away with the first of many consecutive wins, leading up to their tag title match around December or January at the Royal Rumble.

Winner: Enzo Amore & Big Cass.
-Jeff

Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) (c) vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Andersonnew day

Will The New Day be whole or is Big E still going to be out? I honestly haven’t heard anything or payed close enough attention I guess. (Maybe that’s why I was on suspension lol) If Big E is out, I can see Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson becoming NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! But I’m going with THE NEW DAY!

Winner: The New Day.
-Carlo

Are we not calling Gallows and Anderson The Club just because AJ isn’t there anymore? Let me fix that. The New Day v The Club -1. There. That feels better. This match should have happened a few PPV’s ago. The New Day are in danger of, and I might catch some flack for this, becoming stale and they need a shake up. Taking the titles off of them and having them become a little more aggressive should help to keep them fresher than a new box of Booty O’s! Booty O’s! They make sure you ain’t booty! The Club -1 is the right tag team to take over. We haven’t had a heel tag team since the New Day started off as heels and transitioned into faces. It’s been a record breaking title reign. I will admit that Gallows and Anderson have cut some pretty decent promos as of late and taking out Big E makes it very believable that the Titles will change hands. While I highly doubt that the New Day will break up, because it’s a license to print money, I can see a loss here causing some tension in the ranks. The titles change hands and Big E blames Woods and Kofi for it and says he’s the only reason the titles stayed on them for so long or Woods and Kofi blames Big E for not showing up and helping. The other finish is that Big E runs in and helps New Day retain and then they go and celebrate with a big ol’ bowl of Booty O’s. It just so fun to type: Booty O’s! I’m going with the Title change here. The Club -1 are your new W.W.E. World. Tag. Team. Champions! (you just read that in X.Woods voice)

Winners: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.
-Joseph

This feels like it should be a lot bigger match-up than it is. Maybe it’s the slowing of New Day’s momentum, maybe it’s the absence of Big E…something just feels off. I’ve like the story but still don’t feel the build has been big enough. Does feel like the titles have been on New Day too long.

Winner: Gallows & Anderson.
-Jason

It is time for a change. The Booty O’s cereal has been left out, opened on the dining table and has gone stale. Putting the titles on Gallows and Anderson is not something that I am fan of personally, but it makes sense for storytelling purposes. The heat that they will get from the win will help catapult them into the next level of heels that will lead to their long term WWE success. I expect some tension within the New Day after the match, but I don’t think they break up just yet. They still have more promoting to do for the Booty O’s cereal!

Winner: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.
-Jeff

Women’s Championship Match: Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlottesasha

No More Charlotte and Title Picture. That’s all I have to say about that. I think I’ve made it clear on past predictions on how I feel about Charlotte. Sasha Banks with the Victory.

Winner: Sasha Banks.
-Carlo

The Boss of the WWE is having a nice reign as the Women’s Champion. She’s out to prove to the world why she is the BOSS and that she is the best wrestler in all the WWE. Charlotte has played a great heel up to now, but has been crippled, in my opinion, by the fact that she has had to have a sidekick during her entire reign as champ. First it was her father Ric Flair, don’t get me started on how many cities I burned down due to his interference in matches. Then she was coupled with the very green, always flexing, looks very nervous, Dana Brooke. That pairing was more due to the fact that Emma got hurt than Charlotte needing a henchman. We know both Banks and Charlotte can work. Their matches in NXT were great and helped set the bar that we now hold Women’s matches to. It will be great to see Charlotte finally do some work on her own and this should lead us to an excellent match. Dare I say, perhaps the match of the night on a night that could and should feature several candidates? There should be some great high spots and these girls will be looking to steal this show. I’m looking for Sasha to retain and keep this rivalry going. Girl can cut a killer promo and she’s vicious on the mic.

Winner: Sasha Banks.
-Joseph

For as hard as I popped when Banks won the title on Raw, I can’t help but feel like I preferred things when the roles were reversed. Charlotte needs the title to be a better heel and Banks needs to be the underdog that’s fighting to get back on top. I don’t mind rewinding and seeing it all over again on the way to Wrestlemania.

Winner: Charlotte.
-Jason

Something tells me that just because Dana Brooke is banned from ringside, that doesn’t mean she isn’t going to make her mark on the match. Maybe she attacks Sasha before the match even gets started in the locker room? Maybe she comes out in a mask and helps Charlotte win? Maybe she is going to come out and be the reason why Charlotte does not recapture the Women’s title. Maybe not. Maybe the WWE is actually going to let Charlotte wrestle in a one on one match by herself for a change. Hopefully that is the option that is chosen. For as much flack as I give Charlotte, she has improved over time, both on the mic and in the ring. I’m looking forward to this match and you should be too. I’m not a fan of changing the title several times in a matter of a couple of weeks, so I think Sasha finds a way to walk out the same way she arrives, the Women’s champion and more importantly, the BOSS of the Women’s division.

Winner: Sasha Banks.
-Jeff

United States Championship Match: Rusev (c) (with Lana) vs. Roman Reignsrusev

This one I don’t know which way to lean. I like Roman Reigns, but are they really going to allow Rusev to lose cleanly 2 times in a row? Is Roman Reigns done with his punishment from Vince? Or maybe a loss and not having a title is a continuation of his punishment. Who knows? I think Rusev gets the victory here, though I hope Roman Reigns wins.

Winner: Rusev.
-Carlo

Here we go. A fresh feud for Nation of Violation member Roman Reigns. My only problem/complaint about this matchup is how much longer are we going to have to hear about that fact that Rusev and Lana got married?! It is almost like WWE is punishing them for ruining the Dolph Ziggler storyline, which needed to be ruined, and making them do a Groundhog Day with it and relive their wedding over and over. She’s coming out in a white gown every show and saying my husband the only one who can have me….it worked for Sunny in the eighties and early nineties but it falls flat when Lana does it. Maybe they are trying to recapture the lightning they had with Sable and Sunny but they were total bombshells and Lana just doesn’t quite have that charisma. Plus there is no X-Pac to poop in her bag like he did Sable’s. (look that story up, it’s hilarious) Reigns is looking to recapture his momentum and earn some gold. I like the fact that WWE is letting him get an organic reaction in a feud with a legitimate heel. This will help Reigns get over and according to Jeff that fans were actually cheering him a little during his dark match at the Smackdown show. The two brutes can dish out and take a lot of punishment and I’m looking to match to be a straight up slobberknocker. I’m thinking Reigns wins just so that we can see if there is a better crowd reaction now.

Winner: Roman Regins.
-Joseph

This is exactly where Reigns should be on the card. It’s a well-deserved demotion but still a chance to show off his skills. I love what Rusev is doing. I’m fine with what Reigns is doing. I know both of these guys can go, I just don’t know how well they go together. The Raw match was subpar, which doesn’t give me a lot of hope for this one either.

Winner: Rusev.
-Jason

I don’t like that they gave this match away on Raw, six days before the PPV match is set to take place. Maybe they were working out some of the final details or maybe they were trying some stuff to see if they can pull it off in a bigger fashion on Sunday? Whatever the reason is, if Monday was any indication of what we can expect on Sunday, then this is probably where you take your bathroom break people. Both men are good wrestlers, I just don’t think they mix well together. Hopefully they prove me wrong come Sunday and I will be the first to tell you I was wrong. Putting Roman in this spot is a good move. He is put at the midcard level, but still high enough to where it is respectable. Rusev has had two solid runs with the US title and I think this second run comes to an end at Summer Slam. As Joseph mentioned, I was at SmackDown this past Tuesday and Reigns did seem to get a better reaction from the crowd that at previous shows. Don’t get me wrong, the boo’s were still there, the cheering was just a little louder than normal. It could possibly be due to the fact that my daughter was also right in my ear screaming her head off for Roman. But there were plenty of others in our section that were too. Roman recaptures WWE gold on Sunday and then the WWE reevaluates his run with the US title to see if he is worthy of being put back in the main event status.

Winner: Roman Reigns.
-Jeff

John Cena vs. AJ Stylescena

Jeff! They did it again. I think WWE is just messing with you now lol. Jeff dislikes both guys. I have John Cena coming out on top.

Winner: John Cena.
-Carlo

The match of a lifetime…fifteen years in the making…one time only….oh wait no, we had this match before. Cena and Styles impressed me the last PPV. They put together a solid match and while neither one of these guys are young, we were shown a glimpse of what might have happened if these two were on the same show years ago. The fact that given the amount of ring miles on these two we are getting solid matches is a testament to their work ethic and showmanship. I’ve even been impressed with how far AJ has come on the mic. He never really cut great promos in TNA and that’s the one part of this game I’ve always felt he lacked. Since he debuted in the WWE, his mic work as improved. The “Beat up John Cena” tagline just makes this feud so much more personal. It has the feeling that AJ is bitter that Cena has had such a great run with the company while AJ has had to fight literally around the world for respect when he is just as good/better than Cena. This time there won’t be any interference by The Club, so the winner of this one will have definite bragging rights. AJ gets the win because John Cena knows his place is to put over other talent and make them look strong. This feud will continue and eventually lead to a #1 contender spot.

Winner: AJ Styles.
-Joseph

Fight For-ev-er! Fight For-ev-er! Just get the chant started now. These two are going to bring the house down once again. The angle is played out, but the level of in-ring and mic work makes me just not care. You could give me Cena/Styles up til’ Wrestlemania and as long as the matches stay this good, no one would speak a word. It’s between these two and Sasha/Charlotte for match of the night.

Winner: A.J. Styles.
-Jason

How dare Jason try and take away the Fight For-ev-er! chant from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Speaking of which, why is Sami on the pre show card?!?!?!?!??! This is mind boggling to me!!! He didn’t even appear on Raw two weeks ago and now he is thrown in a tag match that makes absolutely no sense?! You can ask these same questions about Bray Wyatt as well, except he was left off the entire card! I hope he is involved in this event in some sort of fashion. But I digress. Back to this match. The match featuring the two wrestlers who I despise more than any other superstar on any of the rosters. I’ll give them their credit, they killed it in their last match and will do the same again here. I do think that there will be a clean finish this time, but I just don’t see Vince McMahon giving in on his stubbornness and letting an “outsider” defeat one of his “guys.” I’ll take Cena in what will be the match of the night.

Winner: John Cena.
-Jeff

World Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Dolph Zigglerdean

Dean Ambrose wins! Enough said.

Winner: Dean Ambrose.
-Carlo

Show of hands, who else scratched their head when Dolph became #1 contender? I will admit that I was one of them. I had been calling for a Dolph push for a while and let’s face it, the guy is a former world champ and has put in work. He deserves to get this push. That being said, Ambrose has been a great champ and for all those who questioned whether he could carry the company with that title around his waist, he’s proven that he can. On Smackdown we saw that return of Heel Ziggler and much like Jericho, this is where he thrives. Ziggler is a great heel. He’s cocky, brash, and he can work. Ziggler is lackluster as a face. Yes he has some great spots, but let’s face it, his heel run as champ was some of his best work. Thank you, creative for finally giving us the heel we wanted. I’m glad that in this matchup Ziggler is the heel, as a heel turn for Ambrose would have squashed his momentum. He’s better as the unpredictable tweener/face. Given the unpredictability of Ambrose and the spot-monkeyness of Ziggler, this match should legit be fun. The build up has been great with Ambrose calling out Ziggler for failing/choking during big moments and Ziggler heeling it up and telling Ambrose that he will prove himself. I don’t think Ziggler wins, but I do see this being a great matchup with some high drama. This is my second candidate for match of the night. Ambrose retains and Ziggler superkicks him after the handshake.

Winner: Dean Ambrose.
-Joseph

HEEL ZIGGLER! How friggin’ sweet was that super-kick on Smackdown?! For a long while now we’ve all wanted Zigs to go heel and it looks like it finally has. And with good reason too, because Ambrose has left me wanting since the brand split. Maybe the Stone Cold Podcast left a bad taste in my mouth, but Ambrose has done nothing to show me he the top guy from Smackdown. If Ziggler is on his game, and he always is, then this match will be fantastic.

Winner: Dean Ambrose.
-Jason

Obviously we are all excited about the return of Heel Ziggler here at Heel/Face Wrestling. Count me in as one of them too! In our last podcast, Jason and I called for the return of HZ and here he is. We will take full credit for that, you can thank us by following us on twitter (@heelfaceraslin). The build up for this match has been good and was able to see the return of Heel Zigs live at SmackDown, so that made it much more enjoyable for me. This match will have some big spots with each man getting in a couple of finishing moves. Ultimately, I think this match ends with Ambrose retaining, but we get a rematch at the next event in September.

Winner: Dean Ambrose.
-Jeff

Universal Championship Match: Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollinsfinn

Universal Champion huh? Couldn’t think of anything better than that? Anyways, I have Seth Rollins coming out on top of this match and being the first Universal Champion.

Winner: Seth Rollins.
-Carlo

MY. GOODNESS! The Demon King is here and he is looking to show the world just how real his kingdom is. This is a matchup that might feel rushed by some, but is just the thing we need. Balor is coming off a tear in NXT that saw him rise to the top and take that brand to new levels. Rollins is my favorite heel in the company and his in ring style will be a huge boost to Balor’s. This match will be loads of fun. I am a little upset that they gave away the Demon King entrance on RAW, but Balor never ceases to show us something new during his entrance and his first PPV entrance will surely be legendary. The chemistry between these two will be electric and this match right here is my last candidate for match of the night and I’m just going to go ahead and call it that. I really can’t see any match topping this one. The Universal Title needs a new name. I was really hoping they would bring back the World Heavyweight Championship, but I guess this will somewhat due. Balor is going to show the world just what he can do. The non-NXT following crowd is going to see just why the NXT faithful are excited about this one. Rollins can work and Balor can work and not enough things can be said to show how hyped I am for this one. Rollins called out the Demon King himself, choosing not to face Balor, but to call out the more aggressive alter-ego. People were against this matchup when it was first called due to Balor just being called up, but the WWE chose to capitalize on Balor’s NXT hype and they haven’t gotten it wrong. This is a match I see going either way and I won’t be upset for either finish. I’m giving this one to Balor. How cool would it be if Samoa Joe loses on Saturday and makes the run in save for Rollins by Gutbustering Balor and helping Seth get the win before Gutbustering him too. I’d maybe mark out a little.

Winner: Finn Balor.
-Joseph

What universe (pun intended) are we living in that Tyler Black and Fergal Devitt are headlining Summer Slam? And it’s for the top spot in the company? I feel like I’m dreaming. We complained for so long that it was taking forever for WWE to call up Balor. Well now he’s here and in the biggest spot on the biggest stage. This match is going to be insane. Two of the best workers in the world vying to be crowned the first Universal Champion (ugh, it hurt to type that) and lead Raw into the foreseeable future. And the winner may be predetermined but you know both of these guys want to show that they are the best. We’re in for treat. While I’d love a double-turn here with Finn reforming the Club and Rollins becoming the hero we all want AND need, I don’t think it’s in the cards. He’s redesigned. He’s rebuilt. It’s time to reclaim.

Winner: Seth Rollins.
-Jason

What convinced me on Balor was when I got a chance to see him at an NXT show a few weeks back in San Antonio. If you were at that event, you were treated to some REALLY good wrestling that night. That may have been the best wrestling show I have been to all year. Rollins is Rollins. What can I say about him that hasn’t been said already? The dude is one of the best at what he does and he brings it every time. They both are well on their way to legendary status and this match is only going to elevate their game. Much like Joseph, I disliked that they debuted the Demon King on Raw rather than saving him for the PPV. And to those of you saying that Demon Kane is better than Demon King, you need to wake up! Open your mind a little and be entertained on Sunday. If you watch Summer Slam and you are not entertained by Balor, then I want you to reach out to me and tell me why. I guarantee you that I won’t be hearing from anyone. Now, back to the match. This one is going to be pure gold and it should be the true main event of the night. Not sure why Brock and Orton get the nod, but it is what it is. I do think that someone interferes, I just don’t know who. The Club? Reigns? Sami? Probably none of the above. In a match that can go either way, I am going with the man who has proved that he can carry this company of the man who will one day carry this company, Crossfit Jesus himself, Seth freaking Rollins!

Winner: Seth Rollins.
-Jeff

Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) vs. Randy Ortonbrock

Soooo are we really supposed to think Randy Orton is gonna beat Brock Lesanr? We’re seeing a different side from Randy Orton, a playful side. I kinda like it, not that I didn’t like Orton before because I did. But there’s nothing wrong with trying something new. I still have Brock Lesnar coming out on top though.

Winner: Brock Lesnar.
-Carlo

The Heel/Face crew and I were just talking about this match and I was stating how I wasn’t looking forward to this one. I’ll tell you why. I had high hopes for the Street Fight that Lesnar and Ambrose were going to have a WM, but instead I got a match that was less fight and even less street. I was disappointed and then I hear the Stone Cold Podcast with Ambrose were Ambrose states that he pitched several ideas and was met with laziness from Brock. Now this was the time when Brock knew he was going back to UFC and he wouldn’t risk injury. I understand that, but this is wrestling. Brock Lesnar has never been shy about him being in it for the money and not really taking the business seriously. This makes me bored with him. I know that every match he gets he’s going to come out and dominate and the drama is gone. It’s like playing Madden with the difficulty set to “Rookie.” Sure it’s fun for the first few games, but after getting 10 sacks a game and scoring 70+points, you get bored. Let me get off this soapbox. This is Orton’s ring return after 9 months away and I’m hoping we get something worthy of the Viper. This feud does seem a little out of place and with little actual build you get the feeling that this was a way to use up one of Lesnar’s contract dates and give Orton a strong showing on his return. There is no story here and hopefully if this feud is to continue we will get one come Monday on RAW. I’m going with the sure thing and Lesnar wins.

Winner: Brock Lesnar.

Kudos to the WWE. I’ve forgotten all about the drama with Lesnar’s drug test and such. Not that it really mattered. And kudos to the WWE for getting me super-interested in a match that seemingly appeared out of thin air. The whole “came in to WWE at the same time” angle does nothing for me. But these two guys are ass-kickers, plain and simple. That, I’ll watch. I hope they make it a fight. I hope it’s not Lesnar/Ambrose 2. I don’t think it will be. I think it’s as close as Brock has come to losing since starting this run of dominance.

Winner: Brock Lesnar.

Randy Orton is one of my top five favorite wrestlers right now, currently number five on that list, only due to him being out for so long. I was happy to see him return to the ring and when they announced that he would face Lesnar, I have to admit, I wasn’t really excited about that. I would rather have him face someone other than a guy who has been demolishing guys with ease. Maybe have a few “tune up” matches with quality opponents, then possibly set this match up with Brock at the Royal Rumble. Just as Joseph said, I am bored with Brock and it is time for something to change with him. Having him lose here after an all out war with Orton would be the way to go, I just don’t think he will agree to that. Could we get a Paul Heyman turn and have him side with the Viper on Sunday? Maybe, doubtful, but maybe. I think closing out the PPV with this match is the wrong way to go and it will bore the fans. After being hyped up with Rollins/Balor, they will sit through this match that will have lots of low spots. Orton will get taken to Suplex City and Lesnar will be taken to Viperville, whichever one lands the most finishers will pick up the win. Give me Randy for the win!

Winner: Randy Orton.
