On June 26, Erica Torres will make her American Joshi Queen of Queens tournament debut, however, she is far from a rookie in the sport of wrestling.
Torres has been wrestling or fighting for most of her life. She fell in love with wrestling as a child and knew that one day she would become a wrestler herself. People have compared her to the likes of Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, for good reason. I had a chance to catch up with her and talked to her about the upcoming American Joshi Queen of Queens tournament.
H/F: A lot a great wrestlers have competed in this tournament in the past. Talk about what it means to you to just be able to compete in this same tournament.
ET: I am aware of the many competitors that have competed in the tournament and I have actually faced a few, including Angel Blue. Being successful in competition against one of the winners of the tournament gives me great confidence.
H/F: I noticed that you have a lot of wrestling/fighting experience and you have been successful everywhere you have been. What would it mean to you to win this tournament?
ET: It would mean that I am the rightful Queen by winning this tournament.
H/F: You have never competed in this tournament and no one who has made their tournament debut has won it in that same year. What is it going to take to win this tournament?
ET: Winning this tournament during a debut will only bring prestige to the tournament and elevate the company. Who better to win a Queen’s tournament than The Rightful Queen herself?
H/F: What can fans expect to see when they see Erica Torres step in the ring on June 26?
ET: I put my all into everything I do and strive to be the winner in every competition. My first MMA fight was stopped by the referee because the girl could no longer defend herself.
H/F: Any words for the other competitors in this tournament?
ET: All of the other competitors should be ready because I’m going to be punching faces and throwing chicks and at the end of tournament when I am crowned the winner, everyone will raise their hands and say “Thank You Erica!”
Be sure to catch Erica Torres and all of the other great wrestlers in action on Sunday June 26 at the Mohawk, located at 912 Red River in Austin, Texas. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
