My WWE Experience: Elimination Chamber & Raw

This past weekend I was lucky enough to attend both the Elimination Chamber in Corpus Christi, Texas and Monday Night Raw in San Antonio, Texas. Obviously I had much better seats at the Chamber, but just being in the atmosphere is enough for me.

If you’ve never been to a live WWE event, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! The John Cena vs Kevin Owens match alone was worth the nearly three hour drive and money paid!

Highlights of my weekend are written below.

Highlight: John Cena vs Kevin Owens. I think it’s safe to say that no one saw that coming. Maybe a few people, but hardly any people could say that. I didn’t think there was any way someone debuting on the main roster would go over on Cena. Not Cena, right? Kudos to Cena for that by the way. He did not have to do that but yet he still chose to. And boy did they have one hell of a match to say the least. I believe the words I sent to Jason in a text after the match were “Match. Of. The. Year!” And it is, so far at least. I can’t remember the last time I was that hyped up after a wrestling match. Kevin Owens left everything he had in that ring and Cena was Cena as he always is. We still have a little over a half a year of wrestling left, so there is plenty of time for people to top that. But they better bring their A-plus games, hell make that their A-plus plus games! If you haven’t seen the match, sign yourself up for the WWE Network for…… $9.99 and go see it! Here’s a small clip of what you will see.

Highlight: Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins for the WWE Heavyweight Championship. I knew Dean Ambrose wouldn’t win the title, if you read my blog on the Chamber predictions, I pretty much said that Triple H is not done having Seth Rollins hold on to the belt just yet. But I gotta admit, when the second ref came out and counted to 3 for Dean and Lillian Garcia announced him the new champ, myself and my cousin Carlo jumped out of our seats and were like Ellis Mbeh.

That match started off slow but picked up the pace in the middle and closed out strong! Owens and Cena had already stole the show but this match was a nice way to close out the chamber ppv.
Highlight: Seeing Roman Reigns perform for 3 matches. I was pretty sure but will admit there was a little doubt that Roman would be able to pull off all three victories last night on Raw. Since he is one of my favorites, it’s always great to see him work more than one match on any given night, especially if I am in attendance to the event.

Highlight: My 6 year old daughter Elena loving every minute of Raw and screaming her lungs out all night. To confirm that she put everything she had into cheering her heart out, she passed out as soon as we got to the car! At one point she leaned over and asked me, “do you think they can hear me yelling to them?”. To which I replied, “I dunno, we are kind of high up”. She then proceeded to yell louder. Kids, gotta love’em! Seeing her enjoy every minute of the show is so awesome, can’t really put that into words, but parents know what I mean!

Highlight: John Cena showing attention to young cancer patient. It is well documented on my Twitter account, as well as this blog that I am not a fan of John Cena inside the ring. Outside of the ring, different story. The man grants more make-a-wish appearances than any other person in the world! It’s a genuine pleasure to him and you can see it on his face and hear it in his voice when he talks about it. Kudos Mr. Cena, much respect from me in that department. For this one time only, for my cousin Frank to see, John Cena doesn’t suck. LOL.
