NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable Predictions

NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable will take place tonight live on the WWE Network at 8pm eastern time. The card has 6 matches scheduled and the possibility of two huge surprises, more on that in the predictions. Here are my predictions for how it will all unfold, feel free to leave your predictions in the comments section below!

Divas Tag Match: Bayley & Charlotte vs. Emma & Dana Brooke Former NXT women’s champion (and daughter to Hall of Famer Ric Flair) Charlotte will team up with the rising star Bayley to take on newcomer Dana Brooke and a newly dubbed heel in Emma. Emma is shedding the once fan friendly dancing image in exchange for a more aggressive side and I like this move! With the Emma/Bayley fued well under way, Charlotte/Brooke contributing, this could be a very fun and entertaining match and a nice treat on the card.

Prediction: Bayley and Charlotte get the win.

Singles Competition: Baron Corbin vs. Rhyno Corbin has been making quick work of all his opponents he has faced so far, don’t look for that to be the case tonight. Not to disrespect any of the NXT talent Corbin has faced, but Rhyno is by far the toughest man that he will have faced after tonight. This match could be a physical, knock out kind of fight until the end.

Prediction: Rhyno gives Corbin the legit win he needs to propel him up to bigger and better things.

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Sasha Banks (c) vs. Becky Lynch At one time, Banks and Lynch were considered friends. Those days are long gone and Lynch would love nothing more than to knock Banks off the top spot in the NXT women’s division. This is another match that could be, scratch that, WILL BE an entertaining one! Banks is the newly crowned champion and will not let her hard work just go down the drain so quickly.

Prediction: Sasha Banks wins and retains the title.

NXT Championship No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match: Finn Bálor vs. Hideo Itami* vs. Tyler Breeze  *Itami is currently injured and will  not wrestle at TakeOver, but it is understood that someone will fill in for him. Insert surprise number one of the night: Samoa Joe! Despite what Triple H said in yesterday’s conference call, I still believe that Joe has signed a deal with WWE and will start off in NXT. I think he did not want to give away any surprises since that would hurt the broadcast rather than help it.

Prediction: Samoa Joe wins to set up an epic fued with the champ. Keep reading to find out who.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady Blake and Murphy paid their dues and worked hard to earn their shot at the tag titles and took advantage of their opportunity by capturing the titles from Sin Cara and Kalisto. Amore and Cassady just want to prove that they belong in the match, and they do. They will prove that tonight once they square off with the tag champs. This should be a solid match with a lot of back and forth action.

Prediction: Blake and Murphy retain the tag titles.

NXT Championship Match: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Sami Zayn Kevin Owens did an awesome job on his Monday Night Raw appearance two days ago. He laid down the foundation of will be a good rivalry between he and John Cena. Zayn is apparently hurt, but will wrestle anyways. The fued between Owens and Zayn has been good this far, but I think this is where it comes to an end and we say goodbye to one of the two in NXT. Also, this is where surprise number two comes into play. John Cena will make an appearance and interfere in this match.

Prediction: John Cena costs Owens the match to add even more heat to their upcoming match at Elimination Chamber; Zayn becomes the new champ and a fued with Samoa Joe begins.
